Judging from the equipment in the photos below, the state of Massachusetts began building an HF communications facility amongst its sites before New York's effort, perhaps in the late 1950's..?

There's a fair amount of information on Massachusett's OCD on the web.  As I find out more, I'll post it here.  Meanwhile, please send me anything you know about this cold-war effort!

Note some confusion about the places where the photos below were taken.  Some were labeled "Harvard, MA" by TMC, but it's clear that these photos were taken at the same place as photos labeled "Littleton, MA".  There is a small town, Harvard, MA, just to the SW of Littleton, so that may be the source of the confusion.

Un-numbered, but clearly a closeup of the same GPT-750-1 as in the other photos.  Note the cars parked outside, all late-50's vintage. "Base station console equipped by TMC for Harvard, Mass. Civil Defense."
